Our product, ConnX eHR is a software solution for business with 50 – 10,000 employees. We currently support hundreds of clients throughout Australia and New Zealand. We’re passionate about delivering premier software solutions and services and as a result our software is used by many well-known and blue-chip organisations.

The Senior Technical Writer / Content Writer role reports directly to the Head of Product who is based in Brisbane, Australia.

How you'll make a difference...
  • You are passionate about delivering insanely great products and solutions to complex people problems
  • The documentation and other content you deliver will raise the bar with our client experience and assist our team and our clients to get a deeper understanding of how our products can drive value for end users

What you will do:
  • Maintain and update a structured documentation framework
  • Maintain and update style guides, processes and procedures for both paper based and online documentation
  • Develop, maintain and deliver high quality client facing documentation, including (but not limited to):
    • user manuals,
    • online system help documentation,
    • release notes,
    • installation guides,
    • feature documentation,
    • training documentation; and
    • other areas of documentation/video/animation as your skill allows.
  • Ensure proper version control of documents and templates
  • Project manage the entire documentation process by:
    • Monitor and communicate proposal status; coordinate requirements with contributors; contribute proposal status information at review meetings
    • Meet deadlines by establishing priorities, task ownership, and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approva

What you need to be successful:
  • Excellent English language skills especially comprehension and articulation
  • Able to clearly explain concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight
  • Expert on Office Productivity tools like MS Word, Visio, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, Activities and Tools
  • Teamwork and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • A quick learner
  • Smart and gets things done
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity of documenting software systems. Specifically, your documentation must be accurate clear, concise, consistent and engaging.
  • BSc in English, Communication, Literature, Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent from a recognized university or institute

The following skills would also be considered beneficial:
  • Experience with Help & Manual software
  • Experience in Acrobat products
  • Knowledge of Graphics, Video and Animation Tools
  • Ability to provide voice-over for videos and other training material
  • Use of Mind Mapping techniques

This role is based in our office in Colombo, Sri Lanka and reports directly to the Head of Product who is based in Brisbane, Australia.
